Auto Checking for new Mail on Launch

So do we assume it was the number of messages in the New Mail folder?

If this is due to leaving messages in the folder after being read (not filing) you can change one option:

Menu | Tools| Options | General Settings | Basic Settings |

Uncheck the  "Allow read messages to stay in new mail folder

This will then move  read mail messages form the New Mail folder to Main Folder

What happened. When I launched Pegasus it always checked for new mail from Host. Now I have to manually ask for this feature on start up? Any suggestions?

Also, why are we still stuck with microscopic fonts in the sending mail dialog boxes after years of upgrades?

That control is in Tools > Internet options > Receiving (POP3) tab.

If you have multiple identities you should...

...set the 'Check whenever the new mail folder is opened' option appropriately in each identity.

...pay special attention to the options in the "Checking multiple identities" section of this tab in each identity.

Just a thought:

How many mail messages are in your New Mail folder?

If my memory is correct it will automatically stop checking once there is over 750 or messages.

IIRC, the issue in the new mail folder that occurs at somewhere above 700 messages isn't that it stops downloading messages, it's that it becomes unable to display newly downloaded messages in the message list of an open new mail folder window.  I believe they will display after a refresh (close/open) of the new mail folder window.

Yes, it doesn't refresh automatically anymore due to the startup delay this would cause. The new mail folder is supposed to be a new mail only folder.
