Strange message & events on starting Pegasus Mail

What you describe is the behavior experienced when the pmail.ini file gets corrupted or deleted.  Mail data is not affected but configuration settings are at defaults.  If you have a very recent backup you can try restoring pmail.ini otherwise you'll need to review all configuration settings and set to your preferences.  The pmail.ini file resides in the home mailbox directory.

I have not know the bold new mail to be enabled as default but you'll find that setting in Tools > Options > Incoming mail > Folder behaviours.

If Pegasus Mail was running during the Windows update the forced shutdown might have caused the problem.

Good morning!

For no apparent reason,  on starting Pegasus Mail 4.71 (yet I felt sure I was using v4.72) this morning, it issued a message similar to that when one installs a new version: i.e. words to the effect that "it seems as though you have used a previous version of Pegasus Mail and have updated ...". Yet I have made no changes. My data is on a file server which is up and running and has not suffered any evant overnight.

All data and messages seem to be present as normal, however:

 - the New Mail folder shows all messages as unread, in Bold. If I mark messages as read and then as unread, they to bold;
 - all folder positions have been forgotten.

Has such an unexpected change been noted by anyone else? Windows 10 did an upate yesterday, but I have had lots of similar updates.

One final point: How can I revert the New Mail Folder message list to unbold?

Thanks in advance.
