SEARCH PREVIOUS MESSAGES

Is there a way to search previous messages, please? I don't want to ask a question if it has been asked before. Thanks.

Edit > Find text or Ctrl+F opens the search function. Once in there you will that it provides may different ways to search as well as what to search. If you are not familiar with it you will want to read its Help topic and then do some playing. Each search will create a new search results folder. These can be automatically deleted during Pegasus Mail shutdown by enabling the option shown below. This option is not identify specific.

Keep in mind that only the search results folders created after you enable this setting will be deleted. Any existing ones will need to be manually deleted.

I guess this is about searching forum posts, Brian. There's a magnifying glass in the toolbar on top of each forum page, Flosex:

Ok, so one good thing thing to know is that when the search is invoked it will search the open category. IIRC, if a search is invoked without an open category then all of them will be searched.

Edit: If you mistakenly start a search from the landing page, the search results window will allow you to refine the search and run it again.

Thanks to Brian and Michael for their replies. Yes, it is a search of the forum posts I was looking to do, so I don't ask a question that has already been asked. I hadn't seen the magnifying glass referred to by Michael, so thanks for that. I am very familiar with the search function in Pegasus itself, described by Brian, and use it a great deal. Now to start searching the forums...

Thanks again, Chris

I just noticed another search option that I had not been attentive to before. It is a search box that reveals itself when a discussion gets long enough to require the use of the vertical scroll bar. It searches the open discussion.
Pay attention to the vertical scroll position in the images below.
