Network Configuration data: where stored?

Hello:

I have been a Pegasus user for many years. all of my previous use of Pegasus was on various Windows platforms.

Very recently, I have managed to install an operating version of Pegasus 4.80 on my "new" installation of FreeBSD version 14.2, using a "helper" program named Mizutamari.

This program installs a working version of WINE, properly configures it, and makes the launching of Pegasus pretty much painless.

However, there are a few issues which we have not yet eliminated, the most annoying of which is that each time I close Pegasus, when I next launch Pegasus, the settings in the "Network Configuration" must be replaced/added.

So, my question is, how and where are these Network Configurations saved, then reaccessed, when using Pegasus on the Windows platform?

And, is it possible to write or copy a file containing these network configurations that Pegasus will read each time it is started?

The most likely reason for this behaviour is using different folders/directories for new and home mailbox as displayed on the info screen to be opened via Pegasus Mail's main menu's Help > About Pegasus Mail > Info button on the bottom. If this is the case there's an issue for Pegasus Mail accessing its network configuration files if they don't exist in the New mailbox location according to the respective info screen entries. This configuration is stored in PND files which should be located in the New mailbox location (For looking up Pegasus Mail's file types you may go to Han's reference pages).

For a quick fix you might just copy those files from the Home mailbox location to the New malibox location. For restoring a common mailbox directory please check Brian's Whitepaper if feasible.

Two quick things. would recommend doing the Pegasus 4.81pb3
It has been out over a year, and is very stable.

Second thing. Don't know about FreeBSD but have been running Pegasus for many years under Fedora with Winehq version.

One issue is generally that IERenderer doesn't work with wine, and generally uninstalling it gets Pegasus Working better. I've also, found that it works better to also remove BEARHTML, since the ter32 and hts32 have been newer than the latest BEARHTML. But it has to be manually removed.

The IERenderer uninstall program is C:\PMAIL\Programs\unins000.exe
That might get it working.
To Remove the BEARHTML, one most remove/rename/move all the BEAR* files from C:\PMAIL subdirectories.

I'm running Fedora 41
wine-devel-10.4-1.1.x86_64
winehq-devel-10.4-1.1.x86_64

What exact version of wine does it use.
www.winehq.org is the site, might have a newer version for Freebsd.

Good Luck.

unins000.exe isn't necessarily correct since there might be another one with this name, i.e. ...000 might well be ...001 or ...002 depending on other install histories. In recent versions it should show IER's icon (Pegasus on top of an IE icon), though, so it's easier to detect.

Interesting? Wasn't aware that it could have different name?
Since I usually, have installed it for testing under linux, and then uninstall it.

With wine I've never seen an icon in the wine for IERenderer.

Thanks.

Just to note. If you have your email directory moved from the default location, there is an issue that the PND files are in the new location, but since they are not is the original location it isn't found.

Simple solution is to copy the PND files to the original location.

Example: Have a test user jill, but moved the mail directory to jill2.
So, original directory for user was C:\PMAIL\MAIL\Jill, but moved the directory to C:\PMAIL\MAIL\Jill2
So, the PND files are in the C:\PMAIL\MAIL\Jill2 and not in the C:\PMAIL\MAIL\Jill.

One option is top copy the PND files to the original directory, or just create files with the same name.

Seems Pegasus on start is looking for the files in the original directory, and if not there, has the network settings as gone or not existing. But if the file exist, even if empty, editing will use the right ones.
