I change the actual credentials in the SMTP Relay Client configuation - the client works - but after restarting mercury, the old configuration is restored. What am I doing wrong?

I tried to repeat the problem but it seems to work as expected here. MercuryC configuration is stored in the mercury.ini file in the main Mercury directory, so it could be that something is preventing access to that file. Make sure that directory is excluded from anti-virus scanning and test if that would help.

I know a similar behaviour with MercuryD (POP3 Client). When not pausing MercuryD before making any changes on the configuraion, MercuryD often do not save the changes. That's why I always activate the checkbox "Pause" at the GUI and wait until the last email account has been polled and MercuryD stops. Then I make my updates, save them and re-activate MercuryD by deactivating the "Pause" checkbox again. Maybe you should try this with MercuryC, too.
