Auto forwarding

Is there a way to configure autoforwarding when downloading mail from my server? I'm often away from my PC so it would be helpful if I could forward mail to my cell phone.

Thanks in advance ....

The short answer is "Yes", you can use a new mail filter rule to forward messages. This could be an "Always trigger" rule which would forward all messages, or could be more selective to forward only specific messages, BUT, there may be alternatives that would be better.

One might to leave mail on the server and configure your phone to connect to your host. This would be an IMAP connection so would not affect the mail on the host. You can enable/disable it on your phone, allowing you to check mail only when away from your PC for a period of time.

Another could be to create the forward filter on your host rather than putting the burden on Pegasus Mail.

Just a couple things that I would be concerned with.

  1. Would have to leave Pegasus open, and would have to have it set to auto-download.
  2. Would be concerned that it might forward messages again and again if rule didn't move messages to another folder after forwarding.

Another option, might be to use a tool like vnc or other remote access to connect to your PC. Generally, doing that with a phone has limitations. With a notebook, I've had no problems. But setting it up is a little work.

I currently am access 6 machines that are 7 timezones away from my location using vnc. 4 are linux, but two are windows 11.

Never used IMAP, and don't know of phone app. Could also use webmail if your provider offers it.

Good Luck.
