moving an off-window mail reader

My mom is a Pegasus user, and somehow managed to move her mail reader window so that the title bar and the button bar are off of the parent window (above it). She's unable to use any of the buttons that she's used to, as they're not visible any longer. I'm my family's unpaid tech support, so I tried to figure out how to move that window using the keyboard. The usual "alt-space" opens the system menu of the application (parent) window rather than the reader (child) window. The window can be closed using the ESC key, but the next reader you open opens in the same off-window position.

Since that window opens in the same place even after you close the application I looked for INI files or registry entries that could be updated, but while I found several "xyz Rectangle" entries I didn't find any that contained negative coordinates.

Looking for a way to move that window back fully into the parent window. Suggestions welcome, and thanks in advance.

The simplest way to sort this is by using Windows > Cascade from the main menu. This will put every Pmail open window in a cascading sequence. Prior to this, take a screenshot of Pmail's windows layout so you can rebuild the original disposition.

After cascading the open windows move/stretch them to the original position, and when done shut down Pegasus Mail which will save the "fixed" disposition.

Good luck!

Pegasus Mail 4.81.1154 Windows 7 Ultimate
IERenderer: 2.7.3.2 AttachMenu: 1.0.2.0
PMDebug: 2.5.8.37 BearHTML 4.9.9.6

In some ways more complex or simpler.
Depending on how you fill about editing file.

Another option. Pegasus closed.
Go to mail folder
copy state.pmj to a backup location.
open state.pmj with a regular text editor like notepad.
At the top is a [General] section.
Look for lines that have a negative number.
The 4 numbers after the = is the window location.
Can reset the 4 numbers to 0,0,0,0 to put them back to default position.

Example was a problem with help window being outside window, and with have negative number.
PMHELP5=0,0,0,0,"196 117 854 600 272"

Reseting the line to have the 0,0,0,0 at beginning, or even deleting info after = would work.
Then open Pegasus after saving.
If something goes wrong restore backup of state.pmj.
Could also compare settings to see what it changed values to.

@msetzerii - that's actually what I was doing looking at the .ini files. I didn't think about any of the other files, silly me. This'll do nicely, and I won't have to re-arrange her other windows.

@euler - that loud thudding sound you just heard was my facepalm. Why in the world didn't I think of that myself...? This is the solution I'll pass along to her just in case she does this again, as editing a config file is not in her wheelhouse.

Thank you both. Much appreciated.
