Hello everyone, The time has come and my provider has switched emails to Outlook.office365. Now I have the problem that I can no longer access my mailbox via pmail. POP and IMAP are enabled for the mailbox, but I get the message ‘incorrect password or incorrect user’. Is this related to OAuth, and can I only use an alternative to pmail at the moment, or is there a way to regain access via pmail?


Settings:
Server: office.outlook365.com
POP Port: 995
SMTP: smtp.outlook365.com
Port: 587

The answers are: yes and no ... unless you can configure the MS account to forward your messages to another email account of some other provider not using OAuth2 via proprietary interface.

Thank you for the answer, so I can stopp trying.
I have already implemented forwarding, so I can receive and read emails in pmail, but sending emails does not work. Alternative addresses in emails are usually rejected by recipients. That means that I have to switch to another client only for sending. Can I hope to be able to do everything via pmail again in future?

I don't think so, at least not as things stand now. The implementation in Pegasus Mail of OAUTH2 for Gmail was a serious challenge for the developer. Microsoft uses a different implementation for their OAUTH2 which the developer has declined to pursue.

Authentication is done via username and password; OAuth2 is not supported for SMTP outgoing mail in outlook.office365.


SMTP server: smtp.office365.com
Port: 587 (TLS encryption)
Encryption: TLS (STARTTLS)
Username: Your full Microsoft 365 email address
Password: Your Microsoft 365 password

Done, there was a typo in the overall adress under general which had to be the same like the one I have to use for the smtp server. Now it works.
