OK, here goes. Open new mail folder; click find (the "search folders for text" dialog opens); click "single phrase," "search in headers only," and select "search in current folder only," leaving everything else as is. Type in an email address that is visible right in front of me in the new mail folder; click "search." The window disappears, nothing is found. Same result with any number of items that I know are in the new mail folder.
Same result if I unclick "search in headers only" and search for text that I know is in any number of messages in my new mail folder. Also same result if I open the "Folders" tree, select "my mailbox," hit cntrl+f, and do a similar search with the "Search all folders in the current mailbox" setting. Nothing in the new mail folder is found.[/quote]
Well, that worked for me, it produced 29 matches:
Interesting ... when I search for a word that is visible in the "From" field (as opposed to an e-mail address I know is there) it turns up nothing. I'll report this back to the beta-testers and see what happens.
(LATER) I restarted Pegasus Mail and now it's working fine, and I can't get it to fail:
Were you in Preview Mode or List Mode in the new-mail folder? You might try messing around with the cursor focus (making sure a message in the New Mail folder is highlighted before you search, try searching with the focus in the message, etc.)
