IMAP logging in and out too many times

Glad it worked for you.

I'm trying to use IMAP to transfer messages from Pegasus to Outlook. I

am dragging the messages from Pegasus to fastmail.fm's server via IMAP, then

dragging them from that IMAP folder into Outlook.

The problem I'm having is that Pegasus is logging out and logging in

for every single message, which is causing headaches for fastmail, who

will suspend my account if I keep having 200+ logins per hour. Is there

any way to get Pegasus to keep the connection open and just move all

the messages with one login? (I did check the box under "performance"

that says "Keep a utility connection open when this definition is

active," but obviously that hasn't done the trick.)

If it isn't possible to do this, then does anyone know of an IMAP

provider that won't mind such frequent logins? I have thousands upon

thousands of messages to transfer.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I have just used the same procedure transferring 1500 emails from another client into Pegasus via Fastmail. Will doublecheck my IMAP settings to see if there is something there.

I did use 'select all' from the old client then COPY to the FastMail mailbox (InBox\Draft). This was repeated via Pegasus 'Select All' copy from FastMail (Inbox\Draft) to the local filestore. Once the copy was completed I Control-Delete the email on fastmail.

Interesting, thanks for the reply! I tried using the copy button on the toolbar and found it did what I desired, moved all the messages using one connection. So then I used the move button on the toolbar, and it also worked! It's only when I drag and drop onto the folder list that it opens and closes between each message. So the problem is solved and I thank you greatly for the info.
