Hi,
Being a long-time user of Pmail, I have also set my parents up with it (v. 4.41, win xp). It's been working fine for about 6 months. Today they tried to email me some photos, but instead in the email attachments tab (I'm using pmail 4.41 too) all I got was an icon. The file they were sending was 67kb or something, but the attachment I received was 0.7kb which I assume was merely the size of the icon. Also had mum try and send me a small word doc, same thing, no attachment, but it looked like it was attached, filename etc showing up, but again 0.7kb filesize. see screengrab here;
I've had them send to a gmail account so I know it's not my Pmail screwing up the attachments (and I'm receiving from other people fine). No change. Icon, filename show up, but no attachment.
I've had them do an 'update' install of a freshly downloaded w32-441.exe
Still attachments are not coming through.
As a possible point of interest, they are also experiencing OLE Error 80010106, so I'm asking if any new software / hardware especially fax / printer stuff has been addded recently. But even still, odd that this could interfere with attaching files. They have a lot of guests at their place - could someone plugging in a digital camera or memory stick have cause this OLE Error?
They've also recently installed "CA security center". I had them disable all the various parts (spam filter, virus filter, kiddie safe thing - all except the firewall) and still no change. Can a firewall potentially strip attachments from an outbound email?
Any ideas, or can I provide more information to help?
Regards,
JP
