It is almost certainly access rights problem.  In Vista once a program is installed, the directory and its contents including sub-directories is changed to Read-only.

You need to setup the NewMail directory under My Documents or somewhere else such as the _localdata directory.  Then run PCONFIG.EXE to change the mailbox location to its new location. .

Hi, I installed Pegasus 4.41 (Win32), German Version, under Windows Vista Home Premium. The problem is, that I have to go through the hole setup-process, every time I start the program. So I have to write my email-adress, pop-server, smtp-server, password, ... again and again. They are not saved. Can you help me?

Did you ever get this problem sorted out? I ask because I am experiencing exactly the same thing - just installed Pmail on a new computer with Vista and every time I start up Pmail the settings have all gone. The POP and SMTP hosts are still listed there but I have to 'add' them afresh each time which at least is less tedious that doing all the detailed settings, but is still very boring overall... Any help appreciated.

This sounds like Vista's User Access Control blocking Pegasus from writing to the program directory. Can you add your userid to read/write to the directory?  Or move the program files into the My Documents\pmail  (as a test) to see if it then saves the data?
