pegasus won't open

Move them back one at a time.  i'd recommend that you move them off to another folder called "To Do" or something like that.  Leaving mail to lie around in the new mail folder for days, weeks, months is just asking for trouble.

When opening pegasus I get a "mailboxed locked" message.  I override the message because no one else is using it.  It then tries to open but after about 3 min. the window greys out and I can't close or open the program.  I do not get any other message except the "wait" icon.  The only way to stop pegasus is to shut down my computer.  I have waited over 1/2 hr. for it to open.  What should I do??

Move all of the *.CNM files out of the new mail directory and try again.  It should now open normally.  You can then put the messages back one at a time until you find the problem message.

It's probably going to be a really large message.  If you are using content control then I'd recommend that you set a limit on the message size so you are not scanning these large files with encoded attachments.

1.    Use  Tools | Spam and content controls | Content control...

2.    Select and edit the control definition

3.    Select the "Message tests" tab.

4.    Enter 8000 in "Check at most this many bytes in each message"

Thomas:

Used my Pegasus v4.4 this morning, then closed it down and re-started Windows XP.

Now I cannot open Pegasus -- same behavior as Helene (above) reported.

I followed your suggestion and removed all *.CNM files dated today from the PMAIL/MAIL/ADMIN file to a temporary file, and still cannot open the program.

 Any further suggestions?

Larry Swain

Move them all out of the new mail folder.  No new messages means that the filtering, content control are not coming into play. If this does not work my only guess is that yuo may be working with the wrong new mail folder.

I moved ALL of them, and now I can open Pegasus.

I want to restore most of the messages that were in my in-box.

How should I proceed?  I've never faced this problem before.

And thanks ever so much for helping.
