Spamhalter: SQL logic error

[quote user="Paul in NJ"]
Question: where does SPAMBUST.DAT fit in? There's one in my main mail folder (C:|Pmail\Sleads), but it's several years old, and another in C:\Pmail\Resource dated two months ago -- that's when I first enabled Spamhalter. Now it works, but the file doesn't seem to have changed.

Spambust.dat is used with Content Control.  Has nothing to do with Spamhalter.

I enabled Spamhalter a while back, and I have noticed that some messages keep getting re-classified as spam. For any given message in the 'Junk or suspicious mail' folder, Spamhalter reports both the 'stored spam probability' and the 'current spam probability' at 0%.

My System Messages reports thusly:

Spamhalter Error: Could not retrieve data "SELECT key, spamcount, nospamcount FROM words WHERE word='cid' LIMIT 1;" : SQL logic error or missing database

Well, that explains a lot. Any suggestions as to how to fix this, please?

Surely I can't be the only person in history to have encountered this issue?

Could be you are, looks like your database could be corrupted.  If you tried cleaning it out completely and starting over?

I was able to resolve the issue, but I'm not sure how.  I disabled Spamhalter, ran a Scandisk, restarted PMail, re-enabled it, and trained it a bit - and now it 'explains' it spam classifications. That seems to have solved it.

I appreciate your help - even after years of using PMail, I still haven't learned all the ins and outs.
