If I change my name, my sent mail disappears

Does your name consist only of legal ascii characters?

Does your name consist only of legal ascii characters?

I have Pegasus ver. 4.41 and love it but just found out that if I

change my name (tools, options, general, basic, personal name (shown in

your address)), my sent mail does not seem to be received by

anyone.  I have tried several variations from my own name and sent

many to myself but they never arrive. Nor have I gotten any replies

from friends/family..

I get no error messages, none of my

messages are in the blacklist folder, I have spam protection turned off

in my BitDefender antivirus, and if I go back to my plain old name they

work fine...

 What is going on...?

Don't know but Go to File | Network configuration | General and turn on "Create Internet session logs (advanced diagnostic use only)"

Checking this control tells Pegasus Mail to create special log files that show the entire exchange of information between it and the servers it connects to. Each session will be created in a file called TCPxxxx.WPM in your home mailbox directory (the "xxxx" is replaced by four digits). Creating session logs will slow down the performance of your system somewhat, and you should be aware that any username and password information exchanged between Pegasus Mail and the server will be shown in the log, *even* if you use SSL to secure the connection. Session logs are primarily useful if you need to debug a problem between Pegasus Mail and one of the servers it connects to - you should enable the option only on instructions from a system administrator or from Pegasus Mail technical support. [ Technical note: this control has the same effect as using a "-Z 32" commandline switch when you run Pegasus Mail ]

You can now try again to send the mail and then look at the resulting TCP/IP debug file.  Review of this file will tell you exactly what is going on between WinPMail and the server.

This may be technically far beyond what I am asking.

 I

am not changing any username or password, simply the 'personal name'

that shows the recipient the name of the sender and the subject.

 Before

I upgraded to this version of PM, I could, and did, frequently choose

any personal name I wished such as Daffy Duck or The Yeti and it was

never a problem.

If you check my OP, I am not changing anything in the network configuration, only my personal identifier.

 Thanks
