Computer crashes with Pegasus attachments.

I suspect the session with your ISP is timing out due to the size of the attachment.  I suggest you can do one of two things.

1. Using Windows Explorer go to the Pegasus Mail NewMail directory and you will find a file that is bigger than your video clip with a filetype of .pnx ,  delete it.  The original video clip will still exist.  This is the queued message waiting to be sent.

2.  Increase the SMTP timeout value via menu Tools/Internet Options/Sending   Select the host you use and click on Edit.  Update the Timeout seconds to a larger number such as 300. click OK to save new value.

or

Compress the video clip with Wnzip or some such tools to reduce the filesize. The filetype part of the filename will change to .zip.

Try sending again.

AUstralians made rude jokes about Kiwis (New Zealanders) and I am sorely tempted to do so in relation to the pride Pegasus Mail has in being from New Zealand.  However, I shall desist from doing so in the interests of getting some kind of resolution to my problem.

It is a very recent problem, I have been using Pegasus happily for years with no problems at all.  But suddenly it has started to crash when I send attachments.

I am using the latest version of Pegasus Mail 4.41 and tried reinstalling it several times to no avail.

Can someone please help.  I use Norton Antivirus and it is updated.  I am running Windows XP.

I am also very unfamiliar with the technological side of email clients - my forte is more in design: HTML and CSS and Flash.  I don't understand what .PMI, .PMM files are and what they are for.

So I'd be grateful for help using only such technical jargon as is absolutely essential.

I dread the possibility of changing email clients as I have no idea how what to do with message folders and address books.

My primary aim is to rebuild trust in Pegasus, but my goodness me, there is some rebuilding to do!

THanks in anticipation,

A couple of simple questions firstly.

1. What kind of attachments ie what filetypes  (maybe Pdfs?)

2. What version of Adobe Reader are you running, if at all?

3. Is your TCP timeout value big enough?  ie do you send large attachments.

4. Are you allowing your AV to scan file activity in the Pegasus Mail NewMail directory, possibly colliding with PM for file accesses?

I've also been using Pegasus for my email program for the last 7 years and today I went to send a video attachment of my grandbaby to my  Dad and the whole program froze up. I got out but now am unable to get back in again.  I click on the desktop icon and it gives me 2 options... "exit" or "continue" and when I click on continue it begins to load but then gets stuck on "opening new mail folder" but it never finishes opening.  How do I access this program again because I have very important information that I need and it's making me panic!
