JOB OK but mail NOT SENT

To send mail through your ISP's mailserver:

1. Open the Configuration / Protocol modules dialog in Mercury.

2. Uncheck MercuryE

3. Check MercuryC

4. Click OK and restart Mercury.

5. Open the Configuration / MercuryC SMTP client dialog and fill in the name of your ISP's SMTP server as well as username and password (according to the information you have received from your ISP). It might be a good idea to enter a name for a general log file as well. Increase the value for TCP/IP timeout to at least 300. Leave the rest as it is for the time being.

6. Click OK and test it.

How about a mercE session log?

FWIW, once you solve the connection issue, your mail will be rejected for being from 'admin@localhost'.

OK, those are for configuring your smtp server. This is the module that listens for incoming connections.

You should put your hostname in the "Announce myself as" field (i.e. mail.yourdomain.com)

If this machine is accessible from the internet you really should tick the top two relaying controls, or the spammers will find your open server, then no-one will accept your mails.

Turn on session logging for mercuryE, the SMTP client module. This is the module that delivers your mail to other smtp servers (and is getting the big FO from hotmail)

Do you have a dynamic or static IP?

What is your domain name?

What email address do you want to send mail from?

I'm using dynamic IP

No domain name for the local machine.

My server domain name is eduplus2u.com

I want the email messages to appear to be sent from eduplus2u.com

I'm using shared hosting for my server. So there's a tight policy on the email bandwidth (100 per hour). But I need to send mass email (as admin) to all my customers. Due to the restrictions of the hosting, the only solution is to send from my local machine.

I hope it is possible.

You should use mercuryC to send through your ISP smarthost. Lots of servers block connections from dynamic IP's.
