Restore missing data from previous copy

I've not seen that before. Do you experience any display problems in any other applications? If you sort this out via email with Thomas Stephenson please post the solution.

I

decided to re-install Pegasus as there were graphics I couldn’t change so I

deleted everything in the Pmail/Program folder.I

then loaded a new clean version of Pegasus and put it all in the  Pmail/Program folder.  I’m

sure I have all my old emails and addresses but when I open Pegasus none of my

old stuff appears.Is

there anything I can do to restore all the old data I used to have which is in

the Pmail/Mail/Admin folder (I think)

It

would be nice if I could blame something for this state of affairs but I’m

afraid that in this instance the fault lies fairly and squarely with me.

Any

help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Hi

If you deleted all the files from the c:\pmail and c:\pmail\programs etc folders without first backing them up, then you will have lost your mail. However, if you did a 'normal' delete you may be able to retrieve them from the Recycle Bin. You will need to restore your pmi, pmm, cnm, pml and pmr files.

Good luck.

I have those files in the Pmail/Mail/Admin folder. Most dated before I removed the Pegasus programme. Should I move these files? If so where to?

Thanks for any help

You should have a file named pconfig.exe located in your programs folder. If you run it (it will open is a command window), it will list where your mail folders are located. You should edit it so that your home and new mailboxes are pointed at your admin folder.

However, make a backup first so you have a copy of your mail.

Greetings Greenman

Followed your instructions (including making a copy of everything!) and My old emails and addressbook have all returned. 1,000 thanks!

But also returned is the problem that caused me to put in a new installation of Pegasus. On the 2nd row at the top of the screen is a row of icons. The whole of the icons seems to be cut off at the bottom but the screen below that is too far to the top and is encroaching on the horizontal menu of icons. I took a jpg of this but I cannot attach it to this message. Also my bands of colours are not showing but they are set up to show.

Many thanks for your time taken to reply.

You need to use the Window>Cascade command to sort your windows. Then arrange them as you want them to appear then Click Tools>Options and on the Basic Settings page, place a checkmark next to 'Save the Pegasus Mail desktop state between sessions'.

Cheers!

Try uploading your image to www.imageshack.us. After uploading you are presented with a screen that gives you various url's you can use for forums etc. Use the first forum url, and simply paste it in your response.

My email address is support@tstephenson.com and you can send this to me for analysis.   FWIW, no real need to munge your email address either since it's out in the wild already and the spammers already have it on their list.

As to your problem the first place i would look for a bad display is the state.pmj.
