Deleted Messages folder disappeared

OK thanks Thomas,

Please  tell me there is a way to delete the search results folders that doesn't involve clicking on each folder, then clicking delete. I have over 200 search folders.. and this is laborious after only 2!  Surely there is some keyboard shortcut for delete even if I can't select multiple copies?

Sorry, I can't help you have.   Any method I would use would involve working on the actual folders outside of WinPMail and that could quite easily result in other problems.  Might want to checkout Han v.d. Bogaerde's Pegasus Mail Links at http://www.vandenbogaerde.net/pegasusmail/  He has provided a lot of information on Pegasus Mail for Windows including the keyboard shortcuts..

Hi,

My deleted messages folder has disappeared - the option to preserve until pegasus ends is still selected. When I delete a message it goes.....but nowhere, and the folder doesn't appear as usual.

Any ideas how I can bring the folder back? I changed that option, closed PM, changed back, but with no difference. I am on Vista SP1 and PM 4.41 and this folder has been working fine for ages

thanks for any advice

Try  the following procedure.  This has worked for several others to restore
the functionality of the  message folders:

1.  Use Help | About Pegasus Mail | Info to determine your mail
    directory.  Exit Pegasus mail.

2.  Rename the file HIERARCH.PM in your HOME mail directory to
    HIERARCH.SAV.

3.  Run WinPMail.  Your HIERARCH.PM will be re-created and should
    start working correctly.

Note:  This will delete any tray structure you have created and it
will have to be recreated.  The process will not affect any
mail of mail folders you have, it only affects the display of
           the folders.

This pointed me in correct direction - the deleted message folder re-appeared in Recent Search Results, oddly... but I moved it out of there and it seems to have stayed there!

Anyone know how I easily clear ALL recent search results? It won't let me delete folder, or multiply select contents, and I have dozens of saved searches

You'll have to manually delete these but use Tools | Options | Folder behaviours and check Default setting for Search Result folders is 'Delete on exit'

When you search your folders for messages, the search dialog  contains an option that causes the search results folder for that search to be deleted when you exit from the program: by default, that control is unchecked, meaning that Search Result folders will be permanent by default. If you would prefer the program to default to deleting Search Result folders on exit, check this control.

OK thanks Thomas,
