I've installed pegasus on a new computer and moved everything from one default mail folder to the other.  got my main folder, distribution lists, notepads, etc. working just fine -- but it's not picking up my address books and folders, kinda basic stuff.  never had any problems moving things in the past.  so any thoughts why these aren't showing up this time?

Sounds like you have a different HOME and NEW mail directory spec.  Use Help | About Pegasus Mail | Info to verify that the program is looking at the same place you put the mail folders.

In any case, the next time you do this copy both the program and mail directories to the new system.  If you use the same drive letter all you'll have to do is create a new shortcut to get it working again.

went thru the help/about routine and they match up.  what's so peculiar is that some things are showing up and others not.

You got it.  As long as the drive letter does not change all you need to do is create a new shortcut.  If the drive letter changes then you'll have to run pconfig.exe to reset the drive letter.

My only guess is that some of them are read only or you have a rights problem.  You're not holding back on us are you?  If this new system Vista?

Nope, not using vista.  the only thing that seems different from when i have done this many times in the past is the Admin sub directory under MAIL -- recommended by you.  could a user difference between old and new be messing this up?  then why would it find some files but not others?  i tried this a while ago and gave up because i didn't have time to putz with it, but my recollection is that i tried setting it up as a single user and it still didn't work.  how could i check a read only or rights problem?

Are these files actually in the HOME mail directory?  The only time folders will not show up is when there are two of them with the same internal filename.  Only one of the dups will show up.  All addressbooks, dist.list, glossary, etc. will show up as long as they are in the HOME mail directory.
