MercuryB only white screen :-(

[quote user="Peter Strömblad"]

In order for MercuryB to work you need the file mercuryb.htm in the root folder of your installation. WIthout it the first page doesn't show, and comes up blank.

If the http://path:port/mlss does show a blank page, your missing the directory MLSS directly under the root path, or you're missing the files therein. To mend your system, you can unzip the m32-462.exe file and extract the MLSS directory, and all should be fine.

Yes, only a blank page appears.

But there ist that MLSS directory (whith all the files in it)  and the mercuryB.htm in the root directory.

Thank you for the help!

Hi,

today i tried to set up a mailing list - and it seems to work.

But unfortunateley the HTTP module does not work.

when i enter the web adress www.media-fokus.net:89/mlss i only get a white screen, but no error message.

BTW: there is a apache server running at the same computer at port 80.

If you like you can join my test list at test@fokus.net. (maiser@fokus.net)

Can anyone help me?

Greetings from Germany...

seems like your firewall is blocking port 89 - at least from here.

Try working on the local machine first, with localhost:89/mlss

Hi Peter,

thank you, but this can not be the reason.

even if i disable the firewall, and try to connect via locakhost, only a blank screen is shown.

When i switch of Mercury an error message is displayed (No Connection possible...)

So I think the connection itself will be established...

Fokus

Edit: In the HTTP-Server window the connections are displayed.

Hi Fokus

Something is blocking the page. Just tried and got a 404 error.

Have you made sure that port 89 is being forwarded to the server that hosts mlss? Have you also ensured that any security software is not blocking incoming/outgoing traffic on that port?

Since the connection is shown in MercuryB, you're correct the connection get through - and possibly back.

When you get a blank page, and right click, to view the source - you should have something there - at least an empty head etc.

Secondly, a blank page could be the result of nothing to display (sorry that I'm not more familiar with MercuryB). I believe only public lists are handled, and if you have none - then logging in shouldn't be possible.

Other possible causes would be path settings that are not correct.
