Using Pegasus as Mecury client

Is there any way I can mimic the behaviour of pconfig.exe on my 64 bit OS?
Yes, make the settings on the XP machine and then copy the pmail.cfg file to program directory on the Vista machine.

I'm sure this information is available in the manuals but I can't find it, forgive me. I am using an xampp bundle to run a web server on my home computer. The bundle included Mecury Mail which is working fine. When the website running on the local host generates emails they are picked up by Mercury and I can read these emails using WordPad from the MAIL folder under the MercuryMail directory. I'd like to read the emails using Pegasus. I have set the directory for Pegasus Mail.exe file. There must be more to it than that so could you point me to the relevant part of the documentation? Thank you.

If you turn on MercuryP and/or MercuryI, you can just connect to the POP3 or IMAP server from Pegasus (or any other mail client).

There is no requirement to use file mode access with Pegasus.

I assume you want to read the *.cnm message files in a user directory directly with Pegasus Mail.  Go to the Pegasus Mail program directory and run the program pconfig.exe to change the home and new mail directory spec to match the location specified in Configuration | Local mailbox directory path.  For example, you probably are seeing c:\mercury\mail\~n in the "local mailbox directory path"  The ~n. you put this in the mail directory spec will be used by WinPMail go to that directory and read the pmail.ini file for the specified user to complete the startup.

Yes Thomas, I want to read the *.cnm message files in a user directory directly with Pegasus Mail. I'm sorry for wasting your time but I just noticed that pconfig.exe will not run on a Vista Home Premium 64 bit computer; I should have read the technical requirements more carefully. I tried what you said on a 32 bit XP machine and it worked immediately. Is there any way I can mimic the behaviour of pconfig.exe on my 64 bit OS?
