Running Archived copy of PM on Separate Drive

I have an archived copies of the complete PMail program folder on a separate drive (F) on my PC.

Is it possible, and if so how, to run an archived copy of winpm-32.exe such that it reads the mails contained in the archive folder on the same drive (F)?

At present, running  winpm-32.exe on F just opens the current mails in the normal way from C drive.

Terry.

Run pconfig.exe from the program directory and change the standalone HOME and NEW mail directory to point at the location on the F: drive.  If this is the entire original mailbox using the old path then all you have to do is change the drive letter.

Thomas,

Thanks for your reply.

I have now done as you suggested

When I now attempt to run PM on the drive (F), the "User Name Please" dialogue appears. If I enter "Admin", the only user for PM, it is refused.

Further help please.

Terry.

I suspect that you have the new mail directory path set incorrectly.

1.  What exactly is the path on the F: drive?  f:\pmail\mail\admin?

2.  What exactly have you entered in pconfig for the path?  f:\pmail\mail\~8?

3. Where exactly does the pmail.usr reside?  c:\pmail\mail?

Thomas,

Thank you again. Yes, I had the wrong file paths. It all works now.

One more question please,

Is there a file somewhere that holds the pconfig.exe settings?

I would like to save a copy for different archives of the PM program folder that I might use in the future to save running pconfig.exe everytime.

Is there a file somewhere that holds the pconfig.exe settings?

It's pmail.cfg in the same directory as pconfig.exe and winpm-32.exe.
