Pegasus Mail Suggestions
Mailing Lists manager

Of course, in the case of folders for mailing lists, a scrolling list to chose a View by thread would be very handy.

Just a detail here: In some mailing lists I am the only one to add a Re: before [NameOfList] when the Re: is already set after [NameOfLIst]. I would like Pegasus to detect that automatically and not be a nuisance for threads sorting. Of course when the Re: is already set by the server before [NameOfList], there is no problem.

I saw there is a List subscription button in the top-right corner of the message window. I think Pmail could develop a powerful mailing lists manager.

As a start, I suggest the List subscription button becomes a "Mailing List" tab, like Raw view and so on. This way it will be more visible, and we will be able to add more features.

Maybe also a right-click filter tool: as soon as [NameOfList] is detected in the title, there is a possibility to right-click on it and chose "Create list filter". The next window then proposes NameOfList as the new folder's name.

I think proposing this filter is more important than other filters. Many users complain that their New Mail folder is flooded by lists. They are also often unable to create reception rules by themselves, even the very educated users. So title criterion and New Folder would be suggested as soon as the next window.

Also, creating a folder is particularly useful for managing lists, because very often their reading can be postponed, and the user must concentrate first on mail specifically sent to him/her by individuals (like clients).

And here there is a little detail that would make Pmail superior to Thunderbird: The line "Apply this new rule to New Mail folder" should be CHECKED by default. Because in Thunderbird many users don't know where to click to clean their New Mail folder intelligently.
