Just one question:  If the junk mail folder is in place and working, do

I still have to do anything with Spamhalter?  If so, what and how?

Just verity that you can write and delete messages in the folder and verify that Spamhalter is pointing to a valid folder using Tools | Spam and Content Control | Spamhalter.

Hi all:

Tried to get into my junk mail folder to empty it, not too full, only 120 msgs - msg said it was corrupted, couldn't open, try re-indexing. 

I tried that, nothing.

I tried the 'check consistency' - nothing.

I was looking for the info to sign onto the mail list, when I got the 'Problem encountered, have to close the program' msg, and away went Peg.

Now I've re-opened it and my junk mail folder has disappeared entirely.

Help?

Looks like this may be a hierarch.pm problem.  

Try  the following procedure.  This has worked for several others to restore
the functionality of the  message folders:   

1.  Use Help | About Pegasus Mail | Info to determine your mail
    directory.  Exit Pegasus mail.

2.  Rename the file HIERARCH.PM in your HOME mail directory to
    HIERARCH.SAV.

3.  Run WinPMail.  Your HIERARCH.PM will be re-created and should
    start working correctly.

Note:  This will delete any tray structure you have created and it
           will have to be recreated.  The process will not affect any
           mail of mail folders you have, it only affects the display of
           the folders.    

The next time you encounter things like this with the junk folder just delete all the messages and do a compress.  If this fails then delete the folder and create a new one and reset Spamhalter.

Good grief, you're still here!!  Actually, I'm glad, because you've always known your stuff and I can count on you.

Anyway, re:

Did try to delete the msgs, wouldn't let me in the folder.

Tried to do a compress after I tried the reindex, nothing.

Tried to delete the folder, wouldn't delete, but a few minutes later Peg shut down and it was gone when I opened the program again, but still wouldn't work.

Fired up this morning, and everything worked fine, junk mail folder back in place etc.

Just one question:  If the junk mail folder is in place and working, do I still have to do anything with Spamhalter?  If so, what and how?
