SMTP server auto selection

Aderoy:

I have used this approximation but it requires to remember switch identities in each location.

I am looking for some auto switch function.

Thanks.

Hello:

Thinking in Pegasus Mail installed on a notebook or a pendrive, wich connects to 2 or 3 networks on a regular basis (home, office1, office2), exists any form of configuring Pegasus Mail in way to autoselect the SMTP server according to the network ?

Thanks in advance.

I know of no way to do this nor can i see anyway that David could do this all that easily.  That said, you can get a GMail account and use that SMTP host from most anywhere.  It will bypass port 25 blocking fairly easy and the only time you would have a problem is where there was no direct connection at all and you had to go to a dialup.

Would the use of the 'Identity' option help in this?

From the manual (page 150)

Identities are a convenient way of working with multiple POP3/SMTP mail accounts – you
can create multiple identities, each with the proper settings for a different mail account, then
access that mail account simply by changing identities before clicking the Get mail or Send
mail buttons.

I have used this for the last few years with good results.
