Thanks - that did the trick.

I guess that the -U command must only apply to NetWare mode although Help doesn't explicilty say so. It would be better if help for the -I command was worded "Specify your standalone identity  username on the commandline. ......"

I've recently had to reinstall Windoze (XP SP2) as I had a trojan that I couldn't eradicate.
Pmail is configured for multi-user but I use one user name for at least 99% of the time.
Previously I had the desktop shortcut set with the -U prefix to log in as user:Bob but I do recall having difficulty getting it to work.
My shortcut Target box currently reads
                         C:\PMAIL\Programs\winpm-32.exe -U Bob
but I've tried it without a space after the U and various other things but without success.

What is the correct format?
