Mercury Upgrade to Which Version?

We are currently using Mercury 4.01B and want to upgrade to a newer version.  My question is which version do you feel is the most stable?  Is it the latest version or one version back?  We use the core service along with SMTP Relay, POP, IMAP, SMTP server, and have it integrated with Pegasus on our network.  Thanks for your comments.
