My e-mail ISP is DEMON.
In former times, using dial-up, Pegasus/TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS for RECEIVing and SENDing were specified as "pop3.demon.co.uk" and "post.demon.co.uk".
Then came broadband, and my broadband ISP (ntlworld) refused "post.demon.co.uk" for SENDing, and I have to use "smtp.ntlworld.com" instead.
Now I have a laptop, and "pop3.demon.co.uk" and "smtp.ntlworld.com" are accepted when I am in UK.
When I go out of country, however, "pop3.demon.co.uk" is still OK. My problem is that, for SENDing, both "post.demon.co.uk" and "smtp.ntlworld.com" are rejected with the message "15: Peer connect failure (the host has refused the connection)". I am currently in Cyprus, using a wireless broadband network supplied by CYTANET, but I have tried SENDing via "smtp.cyta.com.cy" and still get the same error message.
Can you help me resolve this out-of-country SENDing problem, please? How should I specify SENDing parameters? And should I make a different local specificaton whenever I enter a new country?
I do not want to have to give up DEMON and/or PEGASUS (both of which are excellent facilities) and simply fall back onto HOTMAIL or something similar.
