Filters and Auto Replies or forwards

At least try the new version out. If the added functionality can help you in various ways you may find that the license fee is well spent. [:)]

Do any filters or anything like it in Mercury 4.0 affect Auto Replies or Forwards (areply.pm) (forward)?

Yes, anything that moves the incoming mail out of the normal core delivery will affect this.

I'm having no luck with Global ones.  2 things I am trying to do is

1) remove attachments if they are being forwarded to certain domains like @yahoo.com

2) delete certain auto repleys if the subject contains a certain text.

Please provide some more details about how the rules you have tried to create look so we can see what the problem might be.

Here are the Global rules I am having trouble with.  The 1st one I am trying to strip off attachements when an email is forwarded outside our domain.  The 2nd one I am trying to prevent certain auto replies based on the text in the subject line.

1)

Standard Subject header contains
[Autoreply] Re: Some Text
Action Delete message

2)

Standard Subject Header TO contains
someemail@yahoo.com
Action Logical AND
Attachement Fullname contains zip
Action Delete Attachement

I suspect you can't do this one since IIRC the attachments are only removed in the delivered copy of the message. In any case this should be done with an outbound rule and not a global rule.

2) delete certain auto repleys if the subject contains a certain text.

This should be also be done with the  outbound type filters and I'd need to see your actual filter to see why it does not work.

I'm using Mercury 4.01b, are there outbound filters in that version?

No. You should upgrade to 4.62 soonest anyway, as there are some security problems that have been fixed.

I'd like too but I don't qualify to use that version free of charge.  We let our sub. expire at the beg. of 2007.

Do you mean that you cannot afford a 15 user $75 license?
