Stripping attachments and saving the email

You get emails with attachments - some quite large - and you save the attachment to disk. You also want to save the email but there is no need to save the attachment with the email. The folders get quite large. I had one user with a folder in the 1.7GB range and he was getting an "Insufficient disk space" error message and could not move anything into this folder(I have posted another question regarding a folder size limit).

Is there a way to strip the attachment from an email and save just the email body?

Only via the new mail folder.  The reason that attachments can only be removed in the new mail folder

is that is the only place where a file is a separate message file.

1.  Move the message to the new mail folder.

2.  Remove the attachment and close the message to confirm the attachment deletion.

3.  Move the message back to the original folder.
