OK... I'm an idiot.

Thomas,

What I failed to do was exit Pegasus and restart it on my computer after making the change in NConfig. Duh!

Your suggestion fixed my problem.

Thank you so very much.

Happy New Year to you and yours,

eRob

Hi All,

I am hoping someone else has seen this and knows why it is happening and how to make it stop... ;)

I have been using Pegasus/Mercury(NLM) in bindery mode for many years.

Recently, I have begun moving my users to a new server and setting up Pegasus for them in NDS mode.

Everything is working fine except, now when I look at the header on copy to self, the from address has been

"altered" to include the name of our Mercury gateway as follows:

Previously (in bindery mode), the from address was my regular e-mail address: xyz@business.com

Now, it appears as: xyz@mailgate.business.com where "mailgate" is the name of our Mercury mail gateway.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

eRob

Take this with a grain of salt since i do not do NDS but I would run NCONFIG and verify the domain setting there. This is where this domain is set in the bindery mode and so I suspect that is where it should be in the NDS mode as well.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

eRob

Thank you Thomas for your speedy reply.

I had not thought of checking the setting in NConfig.

In NConfig, under the setting "Internet Name", I had "mailgate.company.com" which I changed to "company.com".

Also, in the mercury.ini file for the setting "my name:" I had "mailgate.company.com" (canonical name for this server)

which I would think is the information required for that field. I mean, it doesn't ask for the "domain name".

But, I also changed it there to just "company.com". I unloaded and reloaded the NLMs and it had NO effect. The copies to self

which are auto-generated (of course) still show the "From" address as xyz@mailgate.company.com which is a non-working address.

Where the heck is it getting that? I am baffled.

Please, does anyone else have an explanation of what's going on?

Thanks,

eRob
