IMAP STARTTLS Question

Do I need to use PMail's IMAP Profiles tool in order to set up the initial user and mailboxes if I'm running Mercury?  I tried to use Outlook Express to connect to IMAP server and get an error message that my login has been rejected and to check my user name & password.  Looking at the error message detail in it states this, "LOGIN is not allowed unless STARTTLS has been issued".  What is this referring to?

You have set the IMAP4 server to use SSL/TLS via STARTTLS and neither Outlook nor Outlook Express can use anything but Direct SSL.  You need to turn off the SSL in both OE and MercuryI or use something like Stunnel to allow Mercury/32 to do Direct SSL.
