ADDRESS BOOK PROBLEM

Thomas,

When I mentioned that I renamed the files, I did not change the extent. Bingo, I finally realized that that may be the problem.

After changing the extent on 2 pmr's the problem is solved.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction..

Now to watch some serous ACC basketball.

I have two address books that are not accessable. When I add an address to an addressbook from the header of an email, 3 books are displayed for selection, one of which is accessable the other 2 are bogus.

Also when I create an email and use a nickname, it finds entries in one of the bogus books.

How can I delete the bogus address books?

First of all the books are not bogus, there is a PMR/PM! file pair somewhere or they would not come up.  This could be a book in the PMail program directory or in the directory where the environment variable PMR is pointing.  Search the path for all PMR/PM! files.[/quote]

Thomas,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have a number of pmr/pm! file pairs. I renamed the pairs one at a time with no results.

Then I search for all the *.ini files in my "pmail" folder where pegasus is installed.

I could not find any references to pmr/pm! in these files.

How am I doing? Apparently not very well, but I'm sure you can straighten me out.

Thanks so much for your help..

Not sure what you are doing but when PMail shows up with an address in multiple books it's found multiple PMR/PM! file pairs with the address in the book.

Then I search for all the *.ini files in my "pmail" folder where Pegasus Mail is installed.

WinPMail checks in the HOME mail directory, the same directory as the WinPM-32.exe file and the directory where the PMR MSDOS variable is pointing.  Did you check these locations as well? In any case, search for all PMR/PM! file pairs on any connected drive/directory.

I could not find any references to pmr/pm! in these files.

How am I doing? Apparently not very well, but I'm sure you can straighten me out.
