How to import messages into pegasus mail , after windows reinstall

do you have a backup of your old system. usually simply copying over and overwritting the mail directory restore all the mail.

i never use export/import for backup. simply copy and overwright the entire pmail directory.

Bad way to save message if you put all of the messages into a single file.  The only way I can see to do this is to open the files in something like Notepad and then extract the messages one at a time and saving then with the (8 characters).cnm files to your new mail directory. Will be a pain in the rear.

Next time you want to save your mail save then to single message files or just backup the entire program and data directory and then restore to the new system build.

I cannot find a way to do this ...

Can anybody help me with this ?

Maybe you should consider a utility such as my NoteSplit, that makes individual email messages from a folder's content ?  it is available on the Community site under the download section
