Recovering mail and attachments from an old hard disk

Thank you very much, Thomas

I tried your way nº 2, and I GOT IT. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can imagine my feelings when I recovered old adresses, old attachments and some old beloved messages.

Again, from sunny Spain to sunny California, lots of thanks.

I had to restaure the system in my computer, and I removed the old hard disk, keeping it as external disk. A new hard disk was installed. All my mail was in the old disk .

In the restaured computer, as ever, I am working with Pegasus Mail.

My question (and perhaps it is a very elementary question for experts) is: How can I recover the mails and attachments of the old hard disk. I was surfing among all the archives but I was unable to get it.

Can somebody help me.

Thank you very much.

I am going to assume that this means that you did a new install of PMail to the current system drive.

There are a few ways to do this.

1.  Go to the PMail program directory on the old hard drive, run pconfig.exe and change the home and new mail directory drive letter to match the current drive letter.  Save and exit and then run winpm-32.exe.

2.  Use Folders | Add mailbox to list to point at the directory on the old hard drive containing the PMM/PMI files.  This will allow you to see all of the old mail folders.

3.  Copy the folders and other data from the old hard drive to the HOME mail directory on the new setup.  You must not over write any current file and PMail must not be running.

Thank you very much.[/quote]
