Hi, first post here, thanks for looking.
Windows Live / Hotmail now offers pop3 access to all users:
POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes
I've attempted to configure mercuryD module to collect the mail but I get errors. I'm "using SSL encryption using direct connection" on port 995 but I get the following:
Mercury/32 Transport System, Distributing POP3 Client v4.62,
Copyright (c) 1993-2008, David Harris, All Rights Reserved.
21:16:51 - Connecting to pop3.live.com:995 as 'xxxxxx@hotmail.com'
Ð - Network error; delivering anyway.
The log shows:
21:16:51.593: --- Wed Mar 18 21:16:51 2009 ---
21:16:51.593: Connect to 'pop3.live.com', timeout 30.
21:16:53.390: 22: Error -32 activating SSL session (locus 6014, type 4, code 0, 'Server provided a broken/invalid certifi')
21:16:53.390: --- Connection closed normally at Wed Mar 18 21:16:53 2009. ---
21:16:53.390:
This procedure works if I configure Forte Agent to collect the mail directly rather than via Mercury.
Googling is showing other folk struggling with this with mercuryD too - anyone here know a fix or is Microsoft broken?
Thank you
John
