Mail folders

The folders are referred to internally via the names of the files that constitute that folder.

If you right-click on a folder and select "Folder information", you see a window telling you name of the file that contains the information for this folder.

It sounds like you are saying that the folders you want to delete have no name beside them in Pegasus. You will therefore have to find the line in Hierarch.PM which includes the folder filename.

Remember to make a backup of files before you edit them!

I'm having a little trouble removing a couple of mail folders which I had created to save an hold certain information.

they are no longer needed but I simply cannot remove like others i.e. they just won't go away.

Whenever the attempt is made I keep getting the message:

"You have asked to delete a tray file which still contains folders. Please delete or move all folders from the tray before attempting to delete it."

They tray file has no folders and/or any messages as I have deleted and wish to remove the folder.

 Any suggestions?

I simply can't understand why the same process I've used along w/o problems won't allow me to get rid of these couple of folders

Thanks in advance

The hierarch.pm is messed up in that it shows folders in that tray that are not showing in the mailbox.  You can either delete this file and start all over or try to edit the file and delete the folders associated with the tray.  If editing make sure you keep a copy of the hierarch.pm.

Sorry to be a pest...you'd think this old retired guy would get the hang of it by now

but when looking for the hierarch.pm and finding it I see no mention/name of the folders in question.

The folders in question do not have any folder names to determine. also in doing so I found the hierarch.pm in MAIL when right clicking on the PMAIL in my documents & settings.

In so doing I found messages from 2001 etc also PMR (performance monitor reports) and PMN PMFiles...all kinds of old stuff PMD,...at least the dates were  really old

is it safe to delete this old stuff? sent it to the recycle bin but found out the hierarch.pm went with it but restored that...really can't believe that is still there. Is there some type of cleanup for pegasus files?

Anyway still can't determine info to delete those files...maybe best to leave alone?
