Pegasus hangs when trying to move or copy message

Hi,

I have a number of acounts in my Pegasus and in one of them suddenly I can no longer move or copy a message to another folder. In all other accounts there are no problems.

When I try to move/copy a message the program freezes and doesnot respond to anything anymore. I can only stop it by using ctrl/alt/del. Strangely enough there the program is not frozen, but still active.

I am using Pegasus 4.41 on a Windows XP 32bit machine with two monitors. I have read on the forum that in most cases you can resolve a freeze by finding the child window and closing that, but I havent been able to find one.

I would appreciate any suggestions because this particular account is used for my business.... and I am a bit of a lame duck now :)

Try a consistency check & reindex (right click menu) on the folders in question.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I already tried that and it didn't work.

 However, I found the solution already... once again the extended desktop was the problem. The Move window opened somewhere outside the two screens... but I have been able to resolve it.

What is your video setup, and how did you resolve it? (for the benefit of anyone with the same problem)

This may be overly obvious but can you use the Window/Tile function to display all the panes tiled on the screen?

I tried that too, but it doesn't help because the window I need then (asking where I want to move the mail to) doesn't appear.

 

Any other suggestions?

Take a look at this thread. For locating STATE.PMJ use Pegasus Mail's main menu: Help => About Pegasus Mail => Info where you'll find several configuration data including the path of your home mailbox location containing STATE.PMJ. A suitable editor for modifying it would be Notepad which is simply called Editor on recent Windows versions.
