I moved everything Pegasus to a new computer, used the same paths.
I also reinstalled Pegasus over the files I'd moved, thinking it would help some problems, which is apparently the cause of a whole list of new problems including inability to delete some files and folders, and the surreal reappearance of others.
Here is a solution I propose: I sweep Peg from new computer. I then copy everything to the new computer, same paths, but don't reinstall over it.
Problem: loads of mail I want is now ONLY on the new computer. How can I start from scratch, but still get my old mail and settings back?
Or is there a better solution?
More info for the patient:
When trying to delete messages, I regularly get the following error message after closing the folder:
"A
serious error has occurred while Pegasus Mail was compressing this
folder, and data may have been lost. You should exit from Pegasus Mail
as quickly as possible and use an undelete utility to recover the files
FOL07095.PMI and/or FOL07095.PMM."
The problems do not stem from Read Only issues, I checked that. In all .PND files, I confirmed that the mail: line is blank. I also checked the paths against the original computer, and everything is the same except temp files:
