Forwarded Email is Received But Never Shows Up in Inbox

After reinstalling Pegasus and having the problem reappear, I finally figured out what was wrong: I have a POP3 mail filter set to delete emails older than 1 day, this to allow me to download emails to my BlackBerry.

Apparently the emails I got were somehow older than 1 day and got deleted. So apparently that is not the correct way filter to use for my purpose.

I know create a combination POP3 filter that seems to work.

Condition 1: Rule Type Attributes > Is Marked as having been read set action as Logical AND
Condition 2: Rule Type AND Age > If older than 1 day Delete message on server

If anyone can confirm this is the right way, it would be great.

Thanks!

I noticed a weird problem which I am wondering if it is an indicator of something more serious.

My assistant received an email message, she forwards it to me using the "bounce forward" method from her Pegasus Mail.
I see the email coming in in my Pegasus Mail but it never shows up in my inbox, nor in my spam folder nor in my Deleted Messages folder.

I disabled SpamHalter and Content Control and checked all my mail filters, yet after testing this countless times the message never shows up even though I can see it is downloaded. I can't even see it in my filesystem.

Then I physically moved the message CNM file from her PC to mine and the message shows up in my inbox OK. I then proceed to do the opposite: Bouncing the message back to her. In her PC it shows perfectly fine on her inbox.

Any clues? I receive all other emails OK (or do I now ???).

The first thing that comes to mind is there is a filter moving it to a folder or even deleting it.   Have you tried searching for the messages in your entire mailbox?

I checked the entire mailbox. I even further and checked the timestamp on each file in my MAIL folder and opened the ones with a timestamp after teh receipt of teh message (I did quite the debugging).

It seems the message file is never created on the filesystem.

How exactly do you see it coming in?

The status indicates it is downloading 1 message, but then the message never appears in the inbox nor the filesystem. Given my tests I am sure the 1 message being downloaded is the one I forwarded.

Can I suggest you take a look in the menu Windows/System Messages just after repeating the forwarding/receiving. Is there an item called "Newmail Processing" followed by one or more action lines such as "1 item moved to Foldername" ?

A new development on this problem has developed.

Now I lost an email which was not forwarded/bounced, rather an email sent to me by a client. It never got to me. After a few tests, again I see it being downloaded but never shows up in my inbox or anywhere else.

Any clues?

Same as before either it's not really being downloaded or it's deleted after it's downloaded.  To verify what's on the server use the "Selective mail download" to view the mailbox.  Turn on session logging to verify the download as well.  If it's actually being downloaded check the anti-spam system and filters.

The file was actually downloaded but its disappearance is not due to the antivrus.

In any case, I ended up uninstalling Pegasus, moving the MAIL folder to a different location, installing a fresh new copy, and then moving over only the pertinent folder, mail, address and filter files.

Now it seems to work. My assumption at this time is that Pegasus after 10 years or more of upgrades got corrupted files in there somehow that whenever emails matching some pattern arrived it just failed to save them. I know it is a long shot, but I can't attribute this to anything else as of now.
