Path-placeholder /-variable for home-directory?

We have all homedirecories, e.g.

//server/home/company/last_name/

this

path would like %homepath% in Windows (for each user), and after the

homepath is the pmail-folder with the mails. (also %homepath%\pmail\ )

Also we only need some variable which does the same like %homepath% in windows

The mailbox directories in Mercury must be in the same location, i.e. \\server\home\company\last_name\pmail  so the only variable you can use the the ~8 or ~n  in the place of the last_name.  If you have multiple paths to different servers and directories them that means each of these must be managed by their own Mercury/32 installation.

I'm not even positive you can still use the \\server\home\company\~n\pmail format for the mailbox directory spec since it is not really officially supported except with NDS in a Netware setup.  I have used it in the past and it did work for me but I've not used it in at least a couple of years.

Heyho =)

 I think that I'm too stupid to find some good answeres for my question. I'd asked Google for more than 5 hourse after the key-words: "mercury mail + variable + windows home directory ^^

Ok, my problem:

I've 2 servers, one is my mailserver (and s.o.) and another server is my homeserver with all groups and users.

I'll push mails from user1@grp1.com to \\homeserver\home_dir\group1\user1\pmail\

but e.g. user1@grp2.com to \\homeserver\home_dir\group2\user1\pmail\

.. and so on...

Also I need some placeholder:

\\homeserver\home_dir\%group%\%user%\pmail\

How can I realize this?

PS:

%user% is ~8 or ~n in mercury, right?

Mercury/32 does not do groups on Windows but as you stated you can replace the username with either ~8 or ~n.  The ~8 is limited to 8 characters, the ~n can be more but no special characters.  I've used \\server\volume\users\~8\pmail and it works just fine.  Note the lack of a trailing backspace.

Edit: Oops sent to fast!  What you could do is run a copy of Mercury/32 for each group  using a different MercuryS port for each server with the mailbox spec of \\homeserver\home_dir\group\~8\pmail and then forward the mail using WSMTPEx.exe to the proper Mercury/32 server.  You can run multiple copies of Mercury on the same system as long as you keep then using separate directory structures and ports.
