Can mercury replace some text in an outgoing mail?

Yeah, you are right. But I guess, such a program does not exist...

Thanks,

Konrad

Hi!

Is it possible to use the filter engine of mercury to replace a text in a mail body with some other text like the recipient mail address?

I have a URL in the mail text and I want to modify it from:

http://domain.tld?subject=x1&to=x2

to

http://domain.tld?subject=this_is_the_subject_of_the_mail&to=recipient@domain.tld

The mails are send to a mailing list so it should be done for every

subscriber of the list!

Thanks,

Konrad

Replacing text in the body of the mail message can only be done with a daemon or a policy.  The program run by the policy would be replacing the whole message body with the updated message body.

Does such a program exist already?

Thanks,

It looks like you will need a tailor-made program for this, as it should first extract subject and recipient from the headers and then scan the body for x1 and x2 (possibly in both plain text and HTML versions) to replace them.
