IMAP server error

I do not have problems deleting on GMail with my test accounts.  Try enabling Settings | Labs | Advanced IMAP controls and then you will be able to choose which labels show up in IMAP, turn off message auto-expunging, or trash messages when they're deleted from IMAP.

Wow! Turning off auto-expunging seems to do the trick. Thank you, Mr. Stephenson!

Cheers!

Hi,

I get the error below in Pmail, if I click "Show Pictures (html)" to d/l missing images in html emails.

 -----------------
Profile 'bn':

The IMAP server that manages this mailbox or folder has reported an error during the operation you have attempted to perform.
The operation cannot be completed.
----------------

The error window continues to pop up every few seconds. To solve the problem I need to restart Pmail.

The error ONLY occurs if the mail is in an IMAP box. If I move the same mail to a local folder, I don't get the error.

 My PC:
Win XP Pro running Pmail 4.41

My Server:
Suse Linux Enterprise 9
Postifix
Dovecot
(Imap Mail boxes)

Any Ideas ????

Regards

 Basheer

Hi,

I get the exact same error whenever I try to delete messages from one of my IMAP folder, or try and copy more than a single message to one of my pmail offline folders.

This is the one reason I do not use IMAP in pmail..... any solutions??

Hi,

Upgrading to V4.51 seems to have fixed the problem.

Not for me it hasn't. I only decided to give IMAP a shot with my gmail account yesterday and encountered exactly the same issue. It almost seems like Pegasus is too impatient - or gmail too slow :-)
Pegasus immediately returns this error message while the operation is eventually performed. Anyone any ideas on this?

Cheers!

i had the same problem and I figured it is because in the Imap settings in Pmail I chose to move deleted messages to an Imap folder called xxx (I chose Trash). If you choose instead to move them to the local deleted messages folder tha problem is solved (at least for me...)

Hi Gianluca,

I checked my profile, and I'm afraid it's already set to deleting messages to a local folder. Glad it works for you, though :-) I may give it another go, but I don't have the feeling I'm really missing out on something.

Cheers!
