Error message

Thanks Thomas

You hit the nail on the head. I had forgot, didn't think, to check the other identity and of course it was the problem and now pleasingly fixed.

Thanks again

When I connect to the net to get new messages I am bombarded every few seconds with an error message which says there is a host server problem with either my username or password. However I have checked the internet settings for these and the popserver addresses etc and they are correct. Also the ISP have checked and confirmed that they are correct. I can send and receive messages OK but still constantly get this error message. Could someone please advise me how to get rid of it and the possible reasons for it.

Check to make sure that you do not have other POP3 setups that are being checked at the same time.  If you have checked "When checking for mail, perform checks for all identities" then other, probably invalid, entries are being checked as well.  From the help:

When checking for mail, perform checks for all identities   If this option is checked, then when you check for new POP3 mail, Pegasus Mail will go through all the identities  you have currently defined and will perform a new mail check for each of them. Individual identities can be excluded from this multiple check operation by checking the Exclude this identity from multi-identity checks box. Identities where the same username and host are specified will only be checked once -- Pegasus Mail is smart enough not to perform redundant checks. Note that this setting itself is identity-specific - it can be set or unset depending on an identity-by-identity basis; so, for some of your identities you can have the program set to check all your identities while for others, only the current identity is checked. You can temporarily override the setting of this flag by holding down the Ctrl key as you select Check host for new mail from the File menu, or as you click on the toolbar button for the same action. So, if you have turned on Check mail for all identities, holding down Ctrl when you do a check for new mail will check only the current identity. Similarly, if this control is not turned on, then holding down Ctrl when you do a check for new mail will force a check for all your identities.
