Previously, when I clicked on the red "<" for "check you POP3 host for new mail" all new mail was listed on my New Mail Folder.

Now, nothing shows after the download is completed. When I go to File and click on Exit and then reopen Pegasus there is a yellow bar with a + sign. Next to it, under the From column is the word "Today" [(number of messages), (number) unread]. When I click on the + symbol the mail folder opens up and messages are displayed.

How can I get back to the old system of immediately displaying the messages under the From column?

Do you have a lot of messages in the folder? If you have more than 750 (in recent versions) the folder will not refresh automatically and only does on a manual command or reopen.

Not a lot of messages. Perhaps a dozen or two at a session.

I'm not sure I understand where you are seeing this. Are you running with the '3-pane' (Preview mode) or the classic list mode? Are you using a Grouped view?

I believe it is the "classic" mode. There is a single pane. No Grouped view.

I believe it is the "classic" mode. There is a single pane. No Grouped view.

1. Does simply opening and closing the new mail folder work to show the mail.

2. Have you changed any filters recently?

In any case, try disabling all the new mail filters to see if this fixes the problem. The easiest way to do this is to move the winrules.pmc out of the home mail directory when PMail is not running.

The only way I can get a yellow bar with 'Today' under the from column, is with a grouped view by date.

With the newmail folder open, go to Folder / Grouped views and ensure 'none' is selected.

1. Yes, I can get to the mail by Exit on the File drop down and then re-opening Pegasus. But the "Today" (mail) yellow bar appears and the Sender list is opened when I click on the + symbol. No simply opening and closing the mail program does not show the mail.

2. Yes, I was fooling around, and not completely aware of the process. I'd like to try the disabling new mail filters. But, could you give me step-by-step help regarding you "easiet way...", as I'm not sure about what you're suggesting. Thanks.
