Filtering Mail

700MB file? Did not know any ISP would allow for that large of an attachment, most block attachments between 10 and 20 meg in size.

But this would explain the long delay if Content Control was looking at the whole file.

Opps.  You're absolutely right.  The jpg file is 1.5 Mb.  Guess I had one of those senior moments.  We'll just blame my old and slow system, which my daughter compares to writing on stone tablets.

 Thanks for the replies.

My Pegasus (4.41) has developed a problem this morning.  It's stuck on "Filtering Mail" or some such.  It sits there, and sits there, and sits there, using 100% of CPU, according to Task Manager.  I've backed out of Pegasus, even rebooted.  Pegasus returns to the same "Filtering Mail".

I've gone to Comcast on the other computer, and it tells me there is no mail pending.  So, I think, my system has downloaded the mail to my computer, deleted it from Comcast, and is unable to deal with it.

I'm sure this has been asked before, perhaps by me.  I can't remember the solution.  Help would be appreciated.

Check your Content Control - set to less than 8000 defaults to 0 which is total size of email.

Thank you, sir.  In the interim it solved itself.  I left it filtering and stewing for a half hour, and it finally cleared.  It was a returned mail which I sent this morning.  There was a 700 Mb attachment, but it claimed the address was bad.  I'll try again.
