could be either and SMTP or an MHS address

Don't use On demand only with Pegasus Mail 4.61 anymore unless you have a very good reason to do so: Use Always instead (the new default in v4.61), otherwise you may encounter massive performance issues (Tools => Options => Advanced settings), there are already some reports about this on this forum ...

When I try to send an email from smtp.dslextreme.com I'm getting an error saying:

The address 'docfxit@MyDomain.com' could be either and SMTP or an MHS address. Please use an IN: or MHS: override on the address so WinPMail knows where to send it.

How can I fix it?

Thank you,

Docfxit

The address 'docfxit@MyDomain.com' could be either and SMTP or an MHS

address. Please use an IN: or MHS: override on the address so WinPMail

knows where to send it.

You do not have an SMTP setup in Tools | Internet options.  Create a SMTP setup and try again.

Thanks for the reply.

I do have a SMTP setup that looks fine from within PMail.

When I look into the Pmail.INI file I found something interesting.

Alternative From: field for message       = Gary Kuznitz <docfxit@netzero.net>

The above line has nothing to do with the current identity.  It's not the correct domain name and when I go into PMail options or internet options I can't find netzero.net anyplace.

 I also found:

SMTP relay host for outgoing mail         = mail.netzero.net

Which is not in the PMail configuration inside of PMail either.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,

Docfxit

Looks like real old data in the pmail.ini file, it should not be even used anymore but I would get rid of it.  Exit PMail, edit the pmail.ini with Notepad, and delete the data in the two lines
