Can Mercury be installed on a NAS device?

Hello,

Is it possible or desirable to have Mercury (and the mailboxes) installed on a NAS device? Perhaps this question shows my lack of knowledge of these systems! However, I have just purchased a Qnap 639 as file storage and will be configuring it. If this would enable me to turn off the computer currently running Mercury, that would be marvellous. I am not a network expert, so if explanations are forthcoming, simple ones would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Ellie

On reflection, I suppose that it can't be installed on a storage device. Still, if there happens to be some way....

Mercury needs Windows, so it probably won't work. NAS devices do have some kind of operative system, but it's usually some closed-down Linux version.
