Mail "folders" security in WinSrv environment?

Using Srv2003 and Mercury 4.62patched.

Note that there are 'user named' folders under mail in server directory for Mercury.

That mail is readable in 'text editor' for each individual email under each user's mail folder (not

talking 'box' here, each user does gather their own email thru email client on their desktop).

What is best practice way of 'securing' these folders? Is there an immediate way from within Mercury

or should each individual folder be 'denied' from 'everyone' and only the 'mail user' name be 'allowed' in

'Windows Security options?

Many thanks

Thanks... but it wasn't exactly the same issue (seems that cc'd mail was being 'deleted'). I'm talking about a user accessing the 'mail folders' of "other" users and reading their mail with a text editor. The default install of Merc seems to make the 'everyone' user the default for read, and read write, view... I'd want ONLY the user who is to get the mail 'and' a admin to be able to access that 'folder' - thru for instance, Windows Explorer (file manager). Does any of that make sense? Hope I'm explaining it correctly. Thanks.

At the end is an answer to your question.

Mercury uses the default settings in Windows for access rights to directories, but you can of course change them to fit your requirements.
